Embrix Engineering Series – 2: Embrix Extensions

When choosing the right Order to Cash and Revenue management platform, do you feel handicapped with the rigidity of the platform, when it comes to extensions that you require. If yes, this post is for you.

Often you feel the need to add some extensions for different functionality. However, the rigidity of the vendor platforms or solutions puts you in a fix. You either need support for doing that from the vendor engineering team or you need expensive SI’s to come in and manage those extensions. It does not end there, the maintenance cycle with product upgrades adds to your operating responsibilities. Bottom line, either you live with what you get or pay for the extensions. Your TCO increases anyways.

Enter Embrix – Embrix provides a few frameworks that you can easily configure and add to your deployment without a single line of code. These frameworks are all configurable in the Embrix Core UI (Agent Care Portal) and all of this can be done by your own admin. Embrix offers the following frameworks:

  • Custom Record framework – When it comes to mediation and usage mapping from various sources or payment file mapping from various sources, or other integration mapping (API or Batch), you can easily configure one or more Custom Records in the respective functionalities and use those in the actual mapping process.

  • Custom Attributes framework – Many a times, each customer requires to capture additional attributes for key objects like account, order, service, etc. Embrix customer attributes framework allows you to add categories of custom attributes as a one-time configuration and then see them automatically be part of the onboarding process. For example, configure a few categories of custom attributes framework for account object, and see it automatically included in the customer onboarding process.

  • Flexible attribute mapping framework – Many a times for a common functionality, you may require mapping for the same attributes to mean different things. Embrix Flexible attribute framework enables you to do that. A good example of this is Provisioning (or Service Fulfillment data), whereas a dual, triple, quad play service provider you must provision Telco (mobile number), Cable (set-top box), ISP (high speed modem), etc. Embrix allows you to configure different mapping for different services for the same provisioning data.

Note all the configuration, setup for these frameworks are all done by your admin using the Embrix Agent Care Portal (Core UI) without requiring a single line of code.
